Effective August 27, 2026
1. Accepting these terms
By using montebuilders.com you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. Who we are
Monte Builders is a family-owned California Class B general building contractor based in San Jose, serving San Jose, Santa Clara, Mountain View, Los Gatos, Milpitas, and Morgan Hill. We carry $2,000,000 in general liability coverage. Our license, bond, and workers' compensation coverage are on file with the California Contractors State License Board.
3. What this site is, and what it is not
Everything on this site is published for information. It describes the kind of work we do and how we do it.
Nothing on this site is an offer, a bid, a quote, or a contract. Reading these pages does not make you our client, and sending the contact form does not either. We begin work only under a separate written agreement signed by both of us. If anything on this website conflicts with that agreement, the agreement controls.
4. Prices, ranges, and timelines shown here
Cost ranges and schedule estimates on this site come from projects we have completed. They are there to give you a sense of scale before you call, not to quote your job. What your project actually costs depends on its scope, the condition of the property, what we find once we open things up, material selections, and how long the local permit queue is running.
Only a written estimate prepared for your specific property binds us, and only for the period that estimate states.
5. Written content
Our articles cover building practice, materials, and permitting in Santa Clara County, and were accurate when written. Codes change, fee schedules change, and permit timelines move. Nothing we publish is engineering advice, legal advice, or a professional opinion about your property. Do not treat an article as a substitute for having someone look at the actual building.
6. Our content belongs to us
The Monte Builders name, logo, page text, photographs, layout, and site code belong to Monte Builders or to the people who licensed them to us. You are welcome to read the site, print a page for your own use, and link to us.
You may not republish our text or photographs, copy the site's design or code, or scrape the site in bulk, whether by hand or by automated tool, without our written permission.
7. Using the site properly
Please do not try to interfere with the site or the server it runs on, probe it for vulnerabilities, or use automated tools to harvest content or contact details. Please do not use the contact form to send false information, sales pitches, or unsolicited commercial messages.
8. Links and third-party services
We link to manufacturers, building departments, and other outside sites where it is useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they publish or how they handle your data.
Two outside services run inside our pages: FormSubmit relays our contact form, and Google provides analytics. Each operates under its own terms and privacy policy. Our privacy policy explains what they receive.
9. The site is provided as is
We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or current at every moment. To the extent California law allows, we disclaim implied warranties in relation to the website itself.
This section is about the website. It has nothing to do with the workmanship warranty on construction we perform, which is set out in your project agreement and is unaffected by anything on this page.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent California law allows, Monte Builders is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of your use of this website, including lost profits or lost data.
Nothing here limits liability for personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited under California law. Nothing here limits our obligations under a signed construction contract.
11. Which law applies, and where disputes are heard
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute about this website will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California.
If you have a complaint about licensed contracting work, you can contact the Contractors State License Board at cslb.ca.gov or (800) 321-CSLB (2752), or write to CSLB, P.O. Box 26000, Sacramento, CA 95826.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top will change, and continued use of the site after that means you accept the update. A change to this page never alters a construction agreement you have already signed.
13. If any part does not hold
If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, that part is narrowed only as far as necessary and the rest stays in force.
